6 Week Back Squat Emphasis Prep Cycle – Week 1 Day 1

Trying something new, starting a cycle from Catalyst Athletics and really excited! (P.S. Their website is frickin RAD…well organized and super useful!!)

Here’s today:

– Back Squat – 70% x 3 x 5 [used 135# for all 5 sets]
– Snatch Pull – 85% (of snatch) x 3 x 2, 90% x 3 x 2 [used 93lb and 97lb for first 2 sets, 103 for last 2]
– Halting Snatch Deadlift (upper thigh) – 75% (of snatch) x 3 x 3  [used 85lb]
– SLDL – 3×5  [125#/135#/135#]

weightsWeights for reference:

Max Back Squat: somewhere around 185/190…was 195 in Nov 2011, but has gone down since]

Max Snatch: was 52kg (114#) in Oct 2012. Used that to base %’s off of.
